Welcome to KCDHH!

For the past 40 years, KCDHH has worked with agencies and organizations throughout Kansas to assure availability and coordination of services, including communication access and resources related to hearing loss.  Additional services include advocacy, public education and policy guidance.  Resources are being brought together on this new website giving the public greater access to information when needed.  We intend to expand resources with videos and other useful links.

New Opportunity for ASL Interpreters!

KCDHH is excited to be part of this Promoting Equity in Healthcare Interpreting (PEHI) and make this training opportunity available to all interpreters in Kansas, including Missouri interpreters working in Kansas. PEHI will be a 5 year project, funded by Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA), offering various training and mentorships, and this training opportunity for the first cohort will start September 6.

Applications are open and requested for by August 22, giving KCDHH time to select the candidates for the first cohort to start by September 6. The training is actually at your own pace. Bonus to the participants of this training will include BEI Medical Certification test at the end of training period, all costs paid for including flying to Texas to take test there!

Interpreters from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply, including those who are Deaf, BIPOC, and/or heritage signers (CODAs).

Survey on COVID 19 Response

KCDHH Commission has created a survey on how Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals have responded to communication access during COVID 19  Pandemic in Kansas.  Please consider participating in this COVID 19 Deaf/Hard of Hearing Communication Access Survey.  ASL version of survey can be found at ASL Version of COVID 19 Survey to supplement with the survey. If you need assistance with how to give your responses in ASL, please contact KCDHH.
